Select Swimmers retained the title of D1 champions from the short course season and claimed the first place trophy at the long course championships at Woods pool. There were many outstanding achievements throughout the weekend and here are a few accomplishments:
1 - The
overall team finish for Lincoln Select Swimming
20 - The number of Select swimmers that finished in the top 10 high point scoring. The swimmers were Josh Pales(1), Kyle Goins(10), Amber Storer(4), Michael Ayars(1), Jackson Pope(9), Jessica Storer(1), Ashley Pales(4), Olivia Appleget(7), Emily Graul(9), Thomas Graul(1), John Whittle(1), Ben Morris(6), Sophia Nelson(2), Brennan Balogh(1), Jacob Molacek(2), Jacob Pales(5), Brooke Balogh(1), Blake Balogh(2), Mollie McNeel(6), Rebekah Whittle(10).
21 - The number of Select swimmers who achieved 100% personal best times during the meet, simply incredible! The swimmers were Olivia Appleget, Lauren Ayars, Jerica Barber, Noah Burke, Frannie Calkins, Liza Christensen, Griffin Day, Landon Friesen, Peyton Goracke, Emily Graul, Thomas Graul, Anna Heinrich, Shelby McKee, Elsie Moorehead, Sophia Nelson, Jacob Pales, Josh Pales, Jaina Rademacher, Amber Storer, Jessica Storer, John Whittle, Rebekah Whittle.
56 - Total number of Select swimmers competing at the meet, our largest total for a D1 championship meet.
4173 - The number of points Select scored with runner up GOAL at 3965.
13 - The number of MW Swimming records Select swimmers established over the weekend. Our 13-14 boys, consisting of Jacob Pales, Jacob Molacek, Griffin Day and Brennan Balogh broke the 200-400-800 free relays and 200 Medley Relay. Brennan also broke the 100-200 Fly, 200 IM and 100 Back. Our 11-12 girls, consisting of Jessica Storer, Ashley Pales, Olivia Appleget and Emily Graul broke the 200 Free and 400 Medley relays. Jessica Storer also broke the 800 Free. Last but not least, our 8 & Under boys, consisting of Joel Marmie, Kyle Goins, Bennett Balogh and Josh Pales broke the 200 Free Relay record.
108 - The number of seconds Noah Burke dropped throughout the weekend as our team leader in this category.
1363 - The total number of seconds Select swimmers dropped throughout the weekend. The engineer in me made me look at some other stats to realize how special this past weekend really was. Select had 308 total swims, for a whopping average time drop of 4.43 seconds for every swim.
89 - Total number of volunteer positions our parents signed up for to run this meet. There were many other positions not signed up for that were worked and many hours of work prior to the meet had to be performed. Thank you for your personal commitment to Select, it was outstanding!
